(Joking)

I've been looking at Wordpress after the big discussion about it on here. Wish me luck with an install.
I have a sales site and a working site (forum) separately on different domains and I think WP is perfect so I can clean up the static sales pages and update them wuickly and easily. Like XF WP has a Pages feature.
I'm not looking for a blog. I don't understand why you'd want a blog if you have a good forum for interaction. But the WP way of handling static pages with menus, for updating, with a glossary feature - that's perfect.
I can quite see why people want integration with XF.

If you need help with your WP, let me know. I've installed and uninstalled more than my share. Also check out Smashing Magazine for some very decent FREE themes. I'm not doing a blog either.

Okay, I finally have 10 mins to myself today...altho I still have about two more things to do before the day ends. So far it's been like this:
Collate zip files from 7 designers to make as few as possible without making them too large.
Finish the preview for the sale that was suppose to start over EIGHTEEN hours ago. (midnight 1 Oct and it's now after 6PM)
Get zip files and preview loaded to server and get sale set up.
Download pfd files so I can pay my designers for last month.
Manage a dental trip in there, I have been having horrid tooth pain on the lower left side. Nerve is dead, looking at a root canal on Wed.
Managed a monthly shopping trip to Sam's Club in there somewhere. (That took 2 1/2 hours because we stopped 3 other places as well)
Is the day over yet????

Oh yes, forgot to add...had to put the sale up on my blog for advertising.

Ouchy! so sorry to hear this Liz, toothache is horrible!

Of your list this should be your priority, looking after yourself is paramount, and you are no good to anyone if you are in massive pain.

Thanks for the hug.

That's why the sale is 18 hours late, LOL And don't tell my designers that I can't pay them cause *I* hurt, LOL Not when I already have it set up so my co-owner can get in and pay them if need be, she just doesn't WANT to cause it's MY business paypal account not hers.

Well I hope you have some good pain management drugs at least.

Oh, I do, I do, LOL

What pain relief are you taking Elizabeth? My experience with toothache as resulted in persevering with the pain in the past and nothing the doctors prescribed ever worked. Hopefully it'll pass soon toothache is an absolute nightmare.

Shelly, I'm already on some heavy duty pain meds for other things...nothing my endodontist suggested was even gonna touch the pain. I knew that. But I had a bunch already here at home so I wasn't too worried.

You are such a Great Lady - thank you.
Have been browsing all the plugins mmmm.

Very sorry re tooth though.
My best remedies are -

- echinacea my best friend - it can cauise swelling but it really energises your own immune system and it's v safe. Lifeplan do 1000mg tablets - for teeth I'd take at least 3000 every few hours.
I've even treated an abscess with it - that was 6000 every 2 hours + painkillers.
I'm a no antibiotics except to save my life body. But discovered that antibiotics do nothing for abscesses except shrink them. Echinacea cleans them out. You can get spectacular swellings though cheek like a squirrel full of nuts! Goes down again.

- garlic - cut a clove in half and put the raw edge directly on the bad place. Warning can hurt but it deep cleanses.
Again thnis can even heal abscesses.

- salt the oldest cleanser. Raw salt on site.

Don't have the echinacea but I do have the garlic and the salt...will have to give them a try. I've also read that cucumber works well.

Been busy the last few days trying to get the kitchen reno under control. Last bit of electrical done today (yay, me!) except for the 220v line that has to be re-run from the panel. Then the third wall can get it's share of drywall and concrete board, and we can contemplate the pros and cons of paint first, floor later, or vice versa. After that, it's cabinets and counters and then we're back in business!

Elizabeth, I hope you get your tooth pain under control. I had dry socket once after a wisdom tooth extraction and I'd not wish that pain on my worst enemy.

Shanj - I'd been wondering the same about why it went quiet. Don't think it was you! Did you have time for sex? teeheehee...

Susan
