Implemented Text Editor: More lighter colors/color wheel

I think the color selection should have more brighter colors like red and green. Also I think there could be a color wheel.

The most popular colour is usually red.
That won't be true any longer as there is only crimson.

- not sure who would want this washed / difficult to see option.

that might work, but my members on my german-language Forum do not speak any english at all.
So they do not even understand what "red" means.....

You don't need to go to textarea mode, you can just type this directly inside the RTE editor:
This is red text

[color=red]This is red text[/color]

Or for hexa:
Color text

[color=#654321]Color text[/color]

BB-code is using english language. It can not be customized to any other language like e.g.: german language

You will need to create another Bb Code.

I prefer to have basic colors as well. I will not even use any of these colors, neither will most of our members. The problem is some forum noobs will go nuts on them and post complete coloring books.

Ideally the editor should be fully customizable.

It should be javascript, but we can imagine a set of custom colors coming from the XenForo Display options.

You edited your message, if you want to translate the color name too, this will be more work. The color names are coming from the css standards (see here).

I am using "FireWorks software" as my graphics-program..... and it is providing a color-block which is literally covering all colors you really need. Additionally, you can enter the HEX# code......


I think if we could get this color-block into our XF-Editor, this would cover everyones needs.

Also, the current Editor-icon (an underlined "A") makes it slightly difficult to find the color-palette within the many Editor-icons. A "paint brush"-icon or a "color pipette"-icon would be more intuitive....

Seriously, don't know why XenForo 1.2 is missing green

This is green

But to much my surprise, its not in the toolbar. It's basic color. Its web safe and mobile safe.



There is a few other colors missing

Red
Blue

Seems someone doesn't like prime colors.

Yeah, I'd like the original palette back too... colours were much kinder on the eyes than the new ones.
