Tapatalk Forum App for xenForo - iOS / Android / Windows Phone Mobile App [Deleted]

It works just fine, I run it on 2 XF forums, the latest update doesn't cause me any server errors.

It's just that Tapatalk staff itself has a bad track record of rolling out changes. Not testing them thoroughly, constantly changing the app UI (I really like the current one, but every time they change it, they cause a storm of whiners to surface)

Thanks for your reply...
So no change then from when they used to do it for the 'other' forum boards; constant changing and UI changes lol :p
Would you be so kind to share your board with me via PM so I may take a peek?

It's okay, I found it in your profile, thank you!

I would like/need something more user friendly, as apparently some of our members are struggling with the interface on mobile.
To be fair, I think it's brilliant as you have everything you need on mobile, but out of over 400 members (online for two months only) about 10 have said they struggle.
So I'm browsing for a mobile alternative, of course, from previous use I thought of TT.. but these comments instantly put me off! ;)

Thank you again!

Tapatalk 2.4.1 on Xenforo 1.4.7.

When it's active, I try to post & get this error.

I deactivate it, and the error goes away.

I have removed the add-on, might annoy a few users but the forum is just starting out so it was a decision I made early on, was tired of the server error logs for this also.

I've got this running on 2 sites, one is a VPS with XF 1.4.6 and latest TT version, the other is on shared/reseller hosting with same. No error logs. So I don't know what you're doing wrong but it shouldn't be throwing those errors.

I had been using it fine for a few months and since the newest update it throws out errors constantly. None of my add-ons have changed either.

I had the errors in both 1.4.6 and 1.4.7 - from what I could see it was not related to a plugin, the error had nothing shown for what we had installed.

Although reading back, I just noticed they done another 2.4.1 update without properly notifying the forum owners of this or increasing the version number so it may fix those spam logs but the forum did not warrant much use for it other than spammers according to the statistics available.

Yes that was the problem then. Spammers on tapatalk? But...but...they say all their users are vetted against stopspamforum, how could they be wrong?!?!?

I've had 9 spammers in 2-days registering through Tapatalk and spamming (well it gets blown into moderation queue for verification as some legit users if I set it to reject will get annoyed). The brief time I had it disabled none of those spammers attempted to try it =\ lol

A plethora of server errors each day now, because of this add-on.

If anyone considers installing this on a brand new board: for your own sake, don't.

Can someone else check something for me and see if they can register for my forum (ZRoadster.org) through Tapatalk? If I use the "Join or Sign In" option I only get the option to sign in with an existing account - no option to register. I've just installed the latest version 2.4.2 and am running Xf 1.4.5 - I have "In app registration" disabled, and force a visit to my forum to sign up (or that's what was supposed to happen!)

I've also tried the same on @Floyd R Turbo's sites listed above, and there is no option to register on those either. I don't actually use Tapatalk myself, I only install it to test it and then remove it afterwards.

If in-app registrations are disabled then it takes you to the browser sign-up page I think, at least it should (or ask you).

I think Tapatalk also requires a login on top of the website one.

How it's been set for the last year or so since they introduced the option

Yeah, I'm already logged in using my Tapatalk ID. You can't get in to TT unless you sign in to that.

Yeah, I just downloaded Tapatalk, no sign-up options anywhere.

Edit: Just tested my own forum too, and no sign-up. I even have in-app sign-ups configured and it does not show it for me =\

OK, I made a new gmail account, clicked to join Tapatalk with that and it automatically joined my forum with those credentials when I clicked the 'sign-up or join' part on the drop down, did not ask if I wanted to join or allow me to set a Username (it set the one Tapatalk asked at sign-up).

I can repeat the process on another forum too with a new email address, but if I want to login there is definitely no sign-up or redirection to a sign-up page.
