Just been catching up on the latest series of Supernatural and it's the best yet IMO.

Classic line from the episode I watched last night:

Sam: So what kind of thing likes virgins and gold?
Dean: P. Diddy.

I watched that one last week - it was very much like the earlier episodes with the spark back.. I was pleased (and I laughed at those lines too.

I'm looking forward to the upcoming episide (on next week I think in the UK) where they go to an alternate reality where they are two guys on a show called Supernatural hehehe.. so Dean and Sam are playing Jensen and Jared

How you could put Supernatural in the same sentence is beyond me. Its like saying that hotdogs, caviar, and foie gras are all great foods.

In all seriousness, I think Starz ruined Torchwood too. In making it more "American", I think it lost what made it truly special. They should have left them in Cardiff. What else does the place have going for it?

Oh yes, I definitely agree with that, though I don't think this thread is appropriate for getting into that discussion.

I agree.

Torchwood and Doctor Who are dire in comparison; definitely tailored for a young (teen) audience.

You see, this kind of humour really makes season 6 of supernatural a disaster, it's like the writers just lost all creativity and wrote any old crap. It's a shame really, the seasons leading up to it are actually very good and now we 're seeing this brotherly love repetitive crap, and these obnoxious episodes of alternate reality's. Disaster imo.

I thought I'd hate the alternate reality episode last week but as a light relief, it was hilarious. The way the characters interacted (maybe) gave a small glimpse into the fun they must have making this awesome show.

It's after filming has finished but the cameras were still rolling.

I think that shows pretty well how much fun they have.

I stopped watching after Dean got out of Hell. Until then It was one of my regular shows.

This whole region thing is complete BS, and leads to more and more illegal downloading... it is about time that they (distribs/ studios/ producers) realised that people will not wait for months or often years to get the shows they want legitimately on DVD, even if they really want to.. it is a stupid situation where you have consumers gagging to throw money at TV show producers, and yet we can't get what we want legally.

Really dumb.

you can get a dvd drive for your pc and region free it, or you can just go buy Anydvd by slysoft which will remove all protections including region from any disc in your current drive...
then you can watch from there or reburn it.

Blame the movie studios for that one, and the manufacturers for bowing to their demands.

It's the same nonsense related to blocking output to/from HDMI connections to stop recording.

yah hdcp is complete crap...hdcp strippers for the win....no longer can they tell me which tv to use , nor can they make me use the crap dvr system I pay for every month. Also now with hdcp gone I can watch my cablebox anywhere in the world across the internet..and use my iphone to change the channel See here is the issue..hdcp uses unique keys, each manufacturer having their own. You literally have the key for it in your tv....unless of course your one of the people like me who has a tv with hdmi without hdcp. And in that case without stripping or looping the hdcp signal your tv will just display green. So if you wanted digital cable here (which everything is now)....and you only had one tv (the same kind as the one i mentioned) you would be forced to buy a new tv...or downgrade to a component cable with rca connectors.

Anyways..thanks to this thread...I have a few shows to check out that I have never seen before.
