Suddenly memory errors popping up

My XF based site has been up for about 12 hours now and today I got this error when trying to view Recent Activity:

    Screen shot 2013-05-14 at 1.07.42 PM.png

The next refresh after seeing this lost all CSS styling.

I restarted php-fpm and the site returned to normal.

I have the PHP memory_limit set to 512M, way bigger than it was on my VB forum. Can't think of anything else that would cause this so I am now here asking instead.

Would this be PHP or something nginx/php-fpm related?

Thanks Jake. I'll adjust APC and see what happens.

Doh me! I forgot to add any apc directives to php.ini after upgrading PHP the other night. To this point it hasn't been caching anything!!!
