Not a bug Sub-navigation disappears on search results page

The common sub-navigation that we see all the time, underneath the main Forums tab (Mark All Forums Read Search Forums Watched Threads What's New?) disappears on the search results page.

I've very much got into the habit of using "What's New?" and it is a pain not to have it there on the search results page too.

Is this intended, or just an oversight?

That's by design as search isn't part of the forums (tab).

Could it be added with a template edit then?

You could probably do it with an if statement in the navigation template to identify when the search page is selected.
