XF 2.1 Stripe Upgrades - Trial Period?

I'm having a problem whereby users are choosing to upgrade for a month, or a year, but instead of being immediately charged for a month or a year, they're getting a 1 month trial or 1 year trial.

I've checked stripe and they've entered their credit card details, but their first billing date is 1 month or 1 year later, with their current 1 month or 1 year being as a "trial".

I don't charge trials, why are these users getting a free month or year?

I checked Xenforo and these users are being upgraded to the "Upgraded account" role in XF, so they're definitely getting a free trial period for whatever duration of membership they choose.

It shows up under "Subscriptions" in Stripe as:

How do I prevent this "trial period" from occurring?
 
I spoke with Stripe customer support and so far it's being escalated to a Billing API Specialist.

What the front-line support said was:

So I was taking a look at it and I can see that in the update response there's a Trial set, but I can't really tell why it was set (wasn't included in your request and no proration was set)

But if you'd like I can move this over into email so I can loop in a Billing API specialist who can take a look at this and give a definite answer as to what happened
