Sportsbook & Betting Exchange [Paid] 1.10.1

No permission to buy ($45.00)
What about a users bet based on final standing?

example

user1 standing: 1° Driver1, 2° Driver2, 3° Driver3, etc...
...

final standing: 1° Driver2, 2° Driver1, 3° Driver3 ( correct, give 100 point to user1 ), etc...

---

user provisional standing:

1° User1 with 100 point
...

An outcome is just TEXT, so anything you can think of that you can type into the block can be wagered on.. ie and Event can be a single event like a RACE or you can do things like Seasons and have outcomes be standings..

ie

Event: 2014 NFL Regular Season

outcome 1: AFC West Final Standings. 1. Raiders, 2, Broncos, 3, Chiefs, 4 Chargers
outcome 2: AFC West Final Standings. 2. Raiders, 3, Broncos, 4, Chiefs, 1 Chargers
outcome 3: AFC West Final Standings. 3. Raiders, 4, Broncos, 1, Chiefs, 2 Chargers
outcome 4: AFC West Final Standings. 4. Raiders, 1, Broncos, 2, Chiefs, 3 Chargers

You can also do PARLAYS

outcome 1: Driver 1, Driver 2, Driver 3 all place in the Top 10 (and that outcomes pays of those 3 drivers finish the race in the Top 10).

Outcomes can be anything you want as long as you can determine whether they payout or not.

As far as POINTS.. no, its WAGER... ie BETTING.. you place a wager (ie, you put down $100 on outcome 1 at 2 to 1 odds) and if you win, you get your $100 stake back, plus your winnings (based on 2 to 1 odds, you'd get $200).

I asked before and maybe now it's a better moment.

how about a "mass" CSV importer?
In this way bookies (normally is the admin or one mod) can create wager with openoffice/google docs/office in CSV and then import them all at once, without repeat the same operation for every wager.

In case you're not interested can you give me some infos about the DB so I can do it manually importing directly in it without make a mess? :D

@Bob B I purchased this way back when it first came out...
I am curious, can I make this work with user upgrades? Such that being able to view, use, bet, etc. and then "cash out" your credits for real cash is only allowed for users who become "premium members"

Basically I want to use the system as one of the many perks of becoming a "premium member" on my site.

Feel free to bump your original suggestion at the the support site. I'll help you with the DB stuff, but it won't become an option with 0 likes and not a single response from any other license holders.

Yes, it has a full set of user group permissions, plus it has full category permissions (meaning all user group permissions can be set per category).

For some reason, this really stands out to me. I know you can barely see it because of the colors, but the background around Open isn't a full border radius'd rectangle. It just is open ended on the right side. Is there anyway to fix that?

Also, the upcoming events sidebar widget had broken images when I upgraded. For some reason it was trying to pull the small avatar images from my forum's current skin, instead of from the default folder where the logos are.

It was pulling from,

styles/core/nflj/sportsbook/cat_logo/

instead of

styles/default/nflj/sportsbook/cat_logo/

like I assume it's supposed to, because that's where it pulls from for event avatars on the list.

One more thing, the tooltip avatar image is also broken for me. I'm assuming it has the same problem as the upcoming events widget, but I can't figure out where to change that.

Great product though, that I've been using for a year now. I don't think my forum could run without it at this point.

@JABRONI when you have time, can you create a bug thread for the first one? Its probably a CSS bug on my part or simply not handling it correctly for certain custom styles.

The other two are because I'm using the @imagePath variable in the image paths now for any new functionality (still have a few old areas that need updating). Your custom style uses a different path. You simply need to upload your images into your custom style's image path OR edit templates (which will be a pain when they are all converted). The template for the Preview on the Titles = 'nflj_sportsbook_event_quick_preview'

Hey Bob!

Would you ever consider adding an image to each of the outcomes, as an optional touch? I use them for races and it'd be neat if players could see each of the players they are betting on.

Also, still looking forward to seeing if you implement letting a bookie keep the loses! :D Love this addon!

I don't see why not. There is room for it on the event page and detailed outcomes pages. When you have time, can you post a suggestion for it in the Sportsbook Suggestions forum?

That feature is coming, just not sure how soon (probably a few months out yet is my best guess).

Is this something that will be fixed in the future?

Best way to do it is to use Firebug to find which CSS element you want to change and then add an entry to EXTRA.css to change it.

For the first image, the CSS elements for those are:

.sportsbookEventListItem .main .status .open
.sportsbookEventListItem .main .status .closed
.sportsbookEventListItem .main .status .awaiting_settlement
.sportsbookEventListItem .main .status .settled
.sportsbookEventListItem .main .status .muted

the other screen shots are controlled by core xf and the style. They are not things Sportsbook styles with its own CSS.

I actually just got around to changing this. .sportsbookEventListItem .main .status .open is actually controlled by span class="open" I believe. I've changed .sportsbookEventListItem .main .status .open but it only changes it on the pop up when you're going to place the bet. It does not change on the view detailed outcomes page. I can't figure out how to change the class. Can you help me out with that? Thanks!

A LOT has changed since that post was made (a YEAR ago). btw, if you want help, please post a more detailed support request here: http://addons.nfljunkies.com/forums/sportsbook-support.14/ I don't provide support detailed support like this anymore in a pre sales thread.

So you can post updates in this thread but you can't answer questions from people that paid for the product mentioned in this thread? I understand why you may want that but, personally, I have no interest in reposting a question somewhere else to get what I'm guessing is a simple answer.

You answered the question initially in this thread and the answer you provided didnt work. I figured a "hey do this to change that" would have sufficed with a "in the future could you go here" follow up. I'm sorry if u feel that is rude but i kind of felt your response was as well, intentional or not.

In the future, if that is what needs to happen, then this thread should be closed with a link to the new thread. Asking your customers to jump through hoops (the way it feels) for principles sake just rubs me the wrong way as a service professional. You've been very helpful before but you have to realize that not everyone is going to remember to go to your site especially when theyre getting alerted of responses from you in this thread...

If you actually goto the site you will note that Bob uses his site to track all support issues, suggestions, and anything else. This thread does not give him the same control. Its your choice, if you dont want full support or have your issue sorted then dont post a thread on there.

Bob is one of the very best developers on here, as witnessed by the quality of his addons. His support is top notch with noone that comes remotely close.
