sonnb - Live Thread 1.2.0

Bug with Post Comment 2.0! Can you fix ?? Post Comment is not Displayed with your Addon!

I don't think this is a "bug". It simply does not work (and is not intended to work) with that add-on (and some others).

I used this add-on for the first time during an event that draws a larger audience online.
Within 3.5 days it received 712 replies and 86k views according to the regular XF reporting. It was in LIVE mode for one full day of those 3-4 days.

While in LIVE mode many people absolutely hated it while others loved it. The biggest complaint was that they couldn't go backwards to older posts easy. (I had pagination disabled).

Would it be possible to offer each user a choice to experience a thread in conventional mode or live based on their own preferences. One way would be to have two uaergroups and let users upgrade back and forth.

I wish there would be a preference choice on top of the thread "LIVE Mode enable YES/NO?".

Is this still supported to work with XenPorta? I don't have an option to make a thread Live when viewing a XenPorta article thread

There is a bug in the most recent version.

When a thread is in live mode and someone writes a post, the content of the post stays in Redactors text cache, even after posting it.

I suppose it might be a 1.3 thing, with only 1.2 mentioned as supported - but I just noticed that this addon lets html code go through in posts (I only tested links and noticed it by accident). Maybe there's something odd with my install, but with all the other addons disabled and the default style it was still happening.

Anyone else having that problem?

Seems to be conflicted with other plugins since XF 1.3.4

Do you have a demo how this works?
Your best bet is to put it on your own test site, the only thing you would see is it updating on my site and I only use it during a live football (soccer) match, my test site is on 1.4RC1 and this mod works with that too.

I dont have a test site and I dont know how to make one.. do u know anybody else who uses this

It does work with 1.3.

However in live mode it does not delete the redactor text cache after a posting has been made. Would need an update.

Is there interest by the OP to include a method to make the LIVE vs. Conventional way of thread treatment a user selectable option?

If no I may add that feature myself.

If there is interest by others I may share my addition within this thread.

I intrest in anyway this can be updated..

it will work with reversed* threads?

suggestion: first post sticky (as presentation of an event for example) plus reversed thread
I think that could be useful for sport's forums and in general to comment or send news/updates (live coverage) of an event.

Something like macroumors do with Apple Events like this
