Snogs Site was down, it is now back up ... move along, nothing to see here

it is available.

That makes the statement TECHNICALLY true, but very MISLEADING to end users.

You're right. I think we should start a petition to force XF to add the words "on this site" to the end of that statement so there's not any more confusion. We can't stand for this blatant disregard of truth and accuracy and I'm sorry I didn't realize it before!

I don't agree. I don't think that XenForo has any obligation to keep tabs on developers who leave the site move their support elsewhere. It's simply not their responsibility.
Ozzy is a valuable part of the Xenforo ecosystem and should be treated as such.
There is a big difference between legal obligation and being appropriately respectful.

I never once said Xenforo has to keep tabs on anyone.

I was referring to Ozzy's addons ARE available despite Xenforo's wording saying they aren't.
I'm only saying how guests and potential xenforo customers may see the misleading situation.

Why should XF treat him any better than any other customers? They already gave him a free place to sell his services. Services that wouldn't be useful, or even exist, at all if not for the XF ecosystem existing in the first place. XF has already provided all developers with the opportunity to sell their services right here on this site, giving them almost instant visibility to thousands of potential customers. You think Ozzy would have all the customers he has now if he'd never been allowed to sell his services on this site? Very doubtful. Maybe Ozzy should've been a little more respectful of that fact, instead of trying to tell the XF devs how to act or do their jobs.

move his add-ons

They were deleted, at Ozzy's own request. He didn't ask for them to be moved. He asked for them to be deleted. He did so, no doubt, knowing that meant they'd be listed as "no longer available", yet he requested them to be deleted anyways. So if anyone is mislead, and we'll just have to agree to disagree on that, it's because Ozzy made that decision.

FFS. He flounced just like he did on Vbulletin years ago when he was using notepad to develop add-ons.

Over half of his add-ons were other developer's projects.

I don't understand the focus on one mid developer that had a fit because he thought an official XF member was disrespecting him.

That's all it was. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

I recently bought a membership at Snogs which is the Ozzy site mentioned.

Just as a caution, it's been weeks, a number of the add-ons not functioning in v2.3.7 and no response in Thread or via DM. In fact there is barely any activity there so I would say buy a membership with caution. No big deal because it's pretty cheap and I got a couple of add-ons that work, just don't expect any support. It looks abandoned to me other than the Spaminator ones which are his bread and butter.

My opinion, focus on the add-ons available through proper Xenforo channels to increase your odds of getting support after purchase.

Poor ozzy still has to put up with a lot of haters.
You're better off checking in on him. He might be taking a break

I get your frustration and I'm glad to say it's just the opposite for me with AndyB's add-ons. The subscription is great value, they all work well and the customer support is superb. If I have a query, Andy may even reply within minutes. Heck, he even created an add-on just for me the other day! To clarify, it's available to all customers, but it was in response to my query. With value and customer support like this, I'm very happy to recommend his products.

From my conversations, he still didn't understand GitOps at all (or basic change control) and most of his add-ons were just taken on and repacked.

Painbaker still seems to do good work. And then there are the ever amazing AndyB and Xon.

The addon market is definitely not what it was in 2018
