Snogs Site was down, it is now back up ... move along, nothing to see here

Just to clear the air on my part, I don’t take any personal issue with Ozzy at all. I gave a frank answer to a pointed question, with no willingness to engage in further debate over it. I still respect his overall contributions and whatever he decides to do going forward.

Seems pretty minor, assuming nothing else happened out of sight.

I don't really know what changes they could make with this specific interaction to prevent what happened.

My thoughts too. I'm sure I don't know about them all, and I'm sure there are things that happen behind the scenes that we don't see, but the dev exits I've seen have all been over what appears to me is simple entitlement on their part. Some devs seem to think they're entitled to some kind of special treatment when they're already given a platform to make money, which should be enough.

This. I read the thread that you two had a chat in.
Ozzy took exception to it and gave you the bake.
Then the others butted in.

You personally don't need people having a go at you as you put your heart and soul into every little bit that happens.

I was just doing a search for something and I get page after page of Ozzy's resources "deleted", "deleted", "deleted". That is not a good look.

I have nothing bad to say about Ozzy. I have a few of his add-ons, he's always been kind to me and quick to respond to DM's but this XF community is the first stop for me to look for something and I reckon that's the case for most people; if a dev is not here any more, then I fear others will step in the void and take his place.

I agree.

With Ozzy leaving the XF forums, his great add-ons will be less visible to XF users...and therefore less marketable.
Just my opinion.
It just means you can still get his help but instead of getting it here it's on his site directly.

I agree, I tend to not use/buy addons that are not in the official resource manager.
For example if you are not in the official RM you don't have to follow the rules of it.

I hope this is a simple misundertanding and Ozzy will go back in his decision.

I didn't want to weigh in on this thread but I feel there is something that I'd like to say.

I think something that is forgotten by a couple of the moderators here is that we are paying customers. Paying customer should for the most part be treated as such.

On more than one occasion I have been given snide sarcastic answers from a staff member to a question I've asked. We have all sorts of different levels of experience and dumb questions should still be answered respectfully.

Staff has always been courteous to me and believe me when I say I asked a lot of stupid questions when I was a Noob.

That's reasonable to say and maybe even most likely. But we've never been about the money. In fact recently we adopted the one price for all model but for us it's one price for the basic catalog and premiums for the few premium products we have. Plus we handed over some 600-plus products to painbaker. Revenue is down, we don't care. Money ain't been what it's about.

Go visit him on his site then. You're still using his addons it's just that he's not advertising them on XF
🤦‍♀️
