XF 1.5 Setting permission

I have four groups.

• Unregistered
• Registered
• Executive
• Admin

I have two forums/categorises.

Admin

Executive.

What I want:

• Unregistered users can't see any forums.
• Registered can see everything apart from Executive and Admin.
• Executive can see everything apart from Admin
• Admin can see everything.

I can see it in my head but I just need some help setting the correct permissions please.

Use the private node option so you can specify only allowed permissions:

Admin CP -> Users -> Node Permissions -> [click Permissions for a forum] -> Private node

In what way? You are mentioning specific forums where you want only certain people to access them. The private node approach removes all access and then you allow it for specific groups of people explicitly.
