Fixed Search in ACP not working

Anything I enter in the search field of the ACP, the site just reloads (when I quit typing) and no search results are shown.



The search query is visible in the URL after the reload:

admin.php?q=template

Works for me just fine (in 2.3 beta). Could be a config on your end? I did a stock, fresh install of 2.3 beta, no copy/update a duplicate of my main site.

Hmm, I did not make a fresh install. But it happens on two forums. One is pretty clean, manually upgraded (not a one-click upgrade) but it is still happening.

Try a localhost fresh install to see if it still happens. My site runs cpanel and I dunno how to set that up locally without paying for a license just to use local.

Obviously check things like server error log, and your browser developer console in case there are any errors.

It must be a browser issue. It works fine in Safari, but not in Firefox. Interesting, I would have said the opposite.

I can reproduce this in Firefox.

Might be a FF specific issue. I don't use it (normally, extremely rare), I use Edge and it works fine (Chromium-based browsers might be working fine, but FF might not).

Can confirm the following browsers work for me:

• MS Edge
• Arc
• Google Chrome
• Opera GX

Can confirm the following do NOT work for me:

• Firefox (reg and incognito both)

Firefox sucks anymore. It used to be my goto browser but not anymore.

Thank you for reporting this issue, it has now been resolved. We are aiming to include any changes that have been made in a future XF release (2.3.0 Beta 2).

Change log:

Work-around a Firefox bug which triggers browser default actions for untrusted events

There may be a delay before changes are rolled out to the XenForo Community.

Is there something to fix this on our end? I upgraded to beta 2 and this is still an issue. (Firefox has become disappointing)

You might try clearing your cache I suppose, but I can't reproduce this in Firefox any longer.

Odd, clearing data and cookies didn't fix it for me. Ohhh well, may be time to use a different browser.

Seems my upgrade didn't fully take. I re-ran the upgrade from one click and now it's okay.

Search problems (Admin cp and forum) have been fixed in the Beta 2 version.
