Message text on posts is retained for a period of time so that a user can complete a long entry later or in the event that the user accidentally clicks on another link, they don't lose the text that was previously entered. In WYSIWYG text entry workspaces, there's a save button that can also be used to retain text. These are controlled by ACP>Messages settings.
However, other text entry boxes don't autosave. For example, comments entered in "Report" boxes or "Edit" boxes doesn't get saved. For example, if the user Reports a profile, a layered text box for "Report Reason" pops up. If the user accidentally closes the box before accepting, all of the text that had been entered is lost and the user must start over.
It would be helpful if large text entry boxes also retained text using the same Messages settings.
