XF 2.0 "Response Was Not JSON" errors randomly appearing on site....?

Has anyone else experienced this? I have suddenly noticed random "Response was not JSON" errors quickly popping up and disappearing on the site when selecting various navigation options. This is new, but I have also noticed that I am unable to use "quick thread" (although it seems to sometimes work fine in empty forums) ... not sure if anyone else encountered this?

This sort of error is usually indicative of something outside of XenForo manipulating the result content. Browser extensions are certainly one potential cause.

@Mike thank you for the feedback, it just started happening and I am at a loss. I was wondering if it may be why my "quick threads" do not work? Am I able to 'open a ticket' from the customer forums, perhaps to have the XF crew help to troubleshoot that challenge?

I am also getting this issue. This error some time Popup.

I've had users reporting this exact error adding outcomes on sportsbook (It's not related to sports book)

I've not been able to find reason from this to be happening.

Yea I don't have that add-on, even though you said it was not related and it happens going into the forums or on other random areas around the site. I have also noticed that my quick threads do not work (have only worked once in an empty forum) and a member notes add-on i have does not open up the editor to type in data. Trying to get my function keys to work on an iMac to pull Firefox errors has been a pain.

I don't have anything to add beyond what @Mike posted above.

It indicates that the server is not returning a response in the format that we expect. This would generally be something external to XF manipulating the response. It could be a browser extension or something on the server hijacking the response and returning something else like HTML unexpectedly.

I'd recommend browsing with the F12 browser console open so you can see the network request when it happens and inspect the response from there.

Can not because this only appearing when going to another page and popup only for 2/3 sec.

Yes same concern, but this is a rather recent happening. It’s hard to troubleshoot because it’s intermittent and there is no way to force a reoccurrence; otherwise I would review a one by one disabling of add-ons.

Shame there isn’t some way to troubleshoot

I've tried having persistent logs enabled via the browser console on the off-chance I had another of these intermittent errors..

I caught one tonight, but there was nothing reported on the console. Weird..

Yes mine still happens and I cannot figure it out. The other errors I was having with my site have disappeared under a new template style I am using (some items like quick thread had stopped working) but now that is all fine...yet the elusive not a JSON response STILL happens here and there,

It seems that potentially some server setups are identifying the [TH] Spotify add-on as some kind of DDoS attack.

I decided to remove the add-on some time prior to me closing my forums as neither @ThemeHouse nor myself could get to the bottom of it.
