Resource manager sub categories show by default

I need to make it so that the sub-categories on the resource manager are shown by default, as it is right now you have to click on the main category before it shows the sub categories.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I believe that would require actual code modifications (the data isn't available to the templates).
