Implemented Recent actions

Howdy,

Instead of our profile being pretty much empty unless we are popular enough to know enough users to post on our walls, how about displaying recent actions?

Ie "---MAD--- liked post x.", "---MAD--- posted y in thread z.", "---MAD--- recieved trophy D", "---MAD--- commented on user a's profile".

Would give profiles a bit of activity and more reason for other users to visit profiles and make use of them.

Thoughts?

Et voila! Generally speaking, it duplicates a lot of stuff from the postings tab, but this isn't guaranteed.

I thought the same. If the the posting tab was part of Recent Activity to filter that content in a 2nd tab bar or something else it could look like that:

[Profile Posts] [Recent Activity] [Information]
[All] [Postings] [Profile Posts] [Likes] [Misc]

If you could re-name that to 'other activity' or something, and filter out the recent posts, that would seem much more intuitive and useful, especially for moderators to casually follow up on certain members.

hmmm... I thought Mike is still going to implement the features being asked for in this thread.
As per current set-up, the "Activities" are rather confusing as those are mostly the same as the Postings.

Sorry, but I do not see any value-add to this implementation the way it shows at the moment.

Better scrap the "Activities"-Tab for the moment and get this done properly in a future release.
This IDEA of that feature is nice, but is not that imporant to have when it is not well implemented.

Mike, I would say you do good to yourself to skip it for the moment and implement later when you do have more time to improve on this feature. Currently it just adds confusion and does more harm than good.

I disagree that it does more harm than good. If that's the case, then it seems like the concept of the news feed has that same problem as this is literally the same thing. That whole system is very pluggable, as you can see that there are already things in there that have nothing to do with posts; it's quite straight forward for add-ons to add their own stuff there that could never show up in postings.

It may not be ideal yet (out of the box), but I hardly think it's more harmful.

Yesss! They've changed it now. No more centering... so much better!

And... I also still believe that the following...

Wouldn't it be more logical to have this: [Profile Posts], [Recent Activity], [Postings], [Information], because the first three all have to do with your 'activity/interaction' ([Information]-tab seems a bit 'lost' now in between them). Or one could this: , [Information], [Profile Posts], [Recent Activity], [Postings] and then let the landing page default to [Profile Posts].

My goodness , I just discovered they even implemented this now! You see, this (listening to customer suggestions, considering it and then even putting it out (often in an improved manner)) is one of the many things why I think XenForo is great.
