If my post is just a quote, when pressing reply button you will see a blank quote

I had similar issues with some css for letter colours, because of dark/light theme.

It's not really a bug, it's intended behaviour not to nest quotes..

Thank you for reporting this issue, it has now been resolved. We are aiming to include any changes that have been made in a future XF release (2.2.2).

Change log:

When quoting a post, do not include quote tags if they would be empty

There may be a delay before changes are rolled out to the XenForo Community.

It's worth mentioning that this has been the standard behavior for a long time. It's probably a bit more noticable when it happens due to the WYSIWYG-style quotes. An empty quote doesn't display in the post anywhat so not including it is slightly more consistent.
