XF 2.3 Can I control how much can be added to a quote before click to expand?

New site, latest version, no add-ons

I would like to expand the amount of text that can be added to a quote before the click to expand thing happens. but can't figure out where to change it

Most of my users come from forums with multiple nested quotes and when they see just a single quote with click to expand after a few paragraphs, they don't much like it. I'm not looking to quote an entire wall of text, just add a little more before you have to expand to see the rest of it.

There is no such setting built in the software a.f.a.i.k.

I'm guessing the font size in a quote can't be changed either? I can make it bold, italic or change the color but I've tried everything...100%, 18px, @xf-FontSize and it doesn't change. Looks like inline code might be the same way?

Again, in extra.less try this:

Yes, your template modifications did exactly what I wanted. Thank you very much.

I was hesitant. I've done a lot to customize the look and feel of my new baby forum with the standard options and didn't want to break anything plus I had never edited a template before. I did setup a private test forum and tried out your helpful suggestions there first but used 15px as the font size.
