Question about ignored members

I have been told from a member of my community (pending confirmation) that they are getting alerts for new media comments posted by people on their ignore list.

Is this how XFMG works?

I can't confirm this, either. I got the comment, but not an alert.

I have a question about "ignore". It seems that if you "ignore" someone you not only lose their posts but also any threads they start. That's a problem for us as our threads are project specific and we only have one thread per project. This didn't happen when we used vB. The member's post was hidden but the thread itself wasn't. Is there a way to address this?
