XF 2.1 Push notifications removes forum alerts?

Is this by design? A member reported this on my forum:

I noticed with 'push notifications' on, when I use my laptop, I get a pop-up indicating someone 'liked or quoted' me, but I do not get the 'alert' in the upper corner. I do see the alerts on my phone though.

When I turn the 'push notifications' off, then I see the alerts on my laptop again

Yeah I'm not sure I fully understand the report as it doesn't correlate with anything that is supposed to happen or actually happens.

If you click on a push notification, it will open up the content which generated the alert. This process marks the alert as read, so from that point of view that would be working as designed. I suspect that's what the user is trying to explain but we'd need much more detailed reproduction steps to be sure.
