Thom,

Great site. Don't listen to the haters. People will always be internet cop in hopes they can be a mod or w/e here. Glad you were able to remove that member before anything crazy happened.

Thanks for your comments regarding the site - glad you like it.

I don't think that Matthew is a hater, I just think it could of been handled a bit differently. It's all OK now and it's in the past. I appreciated him highlighting it to me, as it allowed me to get rid of a bad apple before the rot set in.

@Brogan is looking into it for me anyway!

Regards,

@Thom Tyler - nice site, looks really good and best of luck with it! :)

Not to take this thread any more off-topic, but @Matthew Hawley is a young guy who got off on the wrong foot here with a few mistakes, but he learned from them and he's working hard to be a valued member of the community and I, for one, think we should cut him some slack. ;)

As i said, as far as I was concerned there was nothing more to it. My last post regarding the matter was some way up the page.

Let's just move along peeps!

@Brogan - Can you clean up the thread so there's no resentment / no more discussion on this?

It's a custom version of Soft Responsive. I cannot code very well, so I just strip stuff down and re-do it. I won't release it and still got a lot to do with postbit etc. - but getting there. Had a massive hurdle with how the theme was developed to cross - but I'm getting there.

Cheers for the compliment - and no, no intention to release at this stage ( the customisation, not the theme - as it's payware)

@CyberAP - Style was added by someone on the site team, and has now been removed.

It was never used and PS4 Gamer has always had the style, A customised version of Fusion Gamer by @Russ.

All of my add-ons are purchased, along with my skins. I'll restrict FTP / Admin rights a bit tighter in the future.

I think fusiongamer might be one of the single best themes for xenforo. Got it a few hours after release. Use it on my site now www.UnchartedTrails.net
Although I do like that other style your working on. Very nice

OK - so the site has undergone some updates - I'm after some Critiques of it in it's current state. There's still a fair bit to do, including sorting how it displays on mobile. But it's getting there - Just after knowing how it looks on Desktops / Laptops for now.

CDN will be kicking in tonight to improve performance and some optimizations with off-site scripts etc.

Thanks in advance.

I really like the style you've put together for your site. My biggest critique at this point would be to do something with the background that takes away the blue. To me, at least, there just feels to be way too much "blue" going on. Maybe a bit of gray could help the contrast?

Thanks Douglas - It's been done to the similar color palette as the official site - so I've stuck to some strict policies in keeping it "In theme" - I am looking at ways to break-up the color a bit more. The whole idea was, where there was breaks in the blue, you'd be immediately drawn to it.

I'll take all that on-board however and will see what I can do!

So,

I've been busy working on bits and pieces.

  • CDN is now live.
  • Mobile site is now fixed - Mobile logo to be done tomorrow.
  • Gone back to the white Container - Easier this way without adding more modifications than required.
  • Split up the white a little by adding image banners to different sections of the site.
  • Replacing all original .PNG's with optimized .JPG for increased page performance / Less Bandwidth
  • Adding relevant alt tags to custom images
  • Installed the brilliant Notification system by @Chris Deeming - Still working on getting them how I want them.
  • Replace background images with CSS3 Gradients to improve load-time.
Finally getting towards a result that I am after. I'm interested in looking for sites to share backlinks with (Other gaming sites such as XBOX, PC, GAME-SPECIFIC)

After this, it's a case of publicising the Facbook Page, making people aware of our great giveaway - I'll be giving away a PS4 to one lucky member - AND CONTENT!

I'm interested to know what people think and please do keep giving feedback, positive or negative!

It's looking good, Thom. I'm looking forward to seeing where you continue to take it over your next few changes.

Curious, what CDN are you using? I've been looking for one to use & would love a recommendation.

Damn you website is really fast. Except for replacing background images with CSS3 gradients and all original PNG's with optimized JPG, have you done anything else? maybe the CDN does a lot of difference, I don't know,
