XF 1.4 problem with home page URL

I have create a page node with URL portion = home
In Basic Board Information I set Index page route to pages/home

My problem is the home page shows the URL as domain.com/pages/home.

How would I get it to show as domain.com?

The correct URL for that case would be pages/home/ (with the trailing slash).
