I think once the software is actually for sale and people can create their own test accounts, and have some sites going live, there could be many PC requests.

I know I have not created any test accounts on this forum to thoroughly test the PCs, and cannot send a PC to myself on this xf.com forum. This feature may be desirable, or possibly necessary, not sure.
just open a new PC and let us to join it ... ;)

I believe it would be a good addition, but it would also be a good idea for admins to maybe be exempt from being pushed out of conversations. However that does mean that admins may abuse this power but then they already have access to the database so they could easily read other people's private conversations anyway.

I like that suggestion. It´s obvious that a conversation can include details about a patent pending idea you wanna share and discuss with A, B and C. You know that D is working as a software engineer and could use this ideas and details in the PC for his own sake. So it´s obvious - you don´t wanna see D being part of that PC. But - Murphy´s law - C doesn´t know that and invites him to the party..

Only an example but there are countless of such circumstances you - as the PC "owner", better PC-starter, must have the right to push invited people out.

Riiiight. So the acronym PC is Private Conversations here, not the more universally known acronym for Personal Computer? :)

But wouldn't it be great if they invented software that allowed you to boot someone off their PC. ? That would add a whole new dimension of fun to conversations that go south.

You could have something similar, with a reply button underneath the private message to you with something like "respond privately" along with the typical reply button to respond to the main conversation.

So ... it could go from a public thread conversation to a private conversation to an even more private conversation? Couldn't they just email each other at that point? Or is that suggestion just utter madness?

I think we need to come up with a new name other than PC, I think it's going to be very confusing for a lot of users. I know most accronyms are going to have some other meaning, but given the situation of using a forum on a computer I can see problems arising from where the two might be confused. PM obviously has other well known meanings, like in countries with a Prime Minister, but it doesn't really have any contextual overlapping (I don't even know if that phrase exists, but I kind of like it).

Private Discussion? Or just an abbreviation, a 'Convo' maybe?

I don't know either, Child Pornography? Communist Party? I know ColdPlay have made a few bad records, but I can't imagine they warrant their own troll code.
You was correct with your first guess sir, congratulations lol.
I'd like to make it clear that I am in no way a troll, nor do I feed them.

I feel wrong for getting that right. I suppose you couldn't say "I'm just going to check my CP" or "I'll send you a CP" if that is a well known meaning, but it's the first time I've heard it before.

I like PT - Private Thread of all the suggestions so far.

Thinking about it, I imagine PM will still be widely used, it's habit for a start, people don't like change. Besides PC only makes sense in certain circumstances anyway, "I'm going to start a PC" makes sense, but the more common "I'll send you a PC" wouldn't make sense, a PM will just be part of a PC. A PC is made up of a collection of PMs.
