I was wondering how well will xF handle long posts, I'm talking 65k+ characters long posts or even up to 1/2 million characters?

There's an option to limit it (default is 10k).

Mike, is there an option to not count characters included in [QUOTE][/QUOTE] tags, like vB?

I assume this might be included, simply becuase it helps forum staff moderate content length and assess quality.

If that were true then all you had to do was put your entire post in quotes to bypass the limit.[/plain][/quote]

Not really. I'm assuming there will also be an option on min. chars, that wouldn't count quotes either.

vB does that? I'm not sure if this would work too well, since a user could then put all the text into a quote box and easily get around it and insert text of any length.

Not that I think this would happen often, but it's a thought.
