Possibility of moving from SMF 2.0 to XenForo

What I want to know is: can user accounts be moved from SMF 2.0 to the current XenForo version?

My partners and I have a new start up community and we're looking at XenForo as the prime choice for upgrading (later down the road).

We love the combination of CMS + Forums as seen on (http://8wayrun.com/) and that's what we're going for (currently have WP + SMF bridge).

Thanks for any and all answers!

I performed one myself few months back. There is no complete importer from smf 2.0 to XF. You have to go with impex. If you don't know how to do it or would prefer someone experienced do the transition I would recommend xenfans.com for the task. Mikey there has a good reputation about these stuff.

This is the current status of importers.

    Which importers/converters are available?
As of 27 May 2011, there were the following importers available:
    • There are official vBulletin 3.6 and vBulletin 3.7/3.8 importers built in to the software.
    • There is an official IP.Board 3.1.x importer built in to the software.
    • An unofficial vBulletin 4.0/4.1 importer is available as an add-on.
    • An unofficial PunBB 1.2/1.3 importer is available as an add-on.
    • An unofficial SMF 2 importer is currently being developed.

What some have done (inlcuding myself), is to go via vBulletin using Impex.

You don't appear to have associated your forum account with your customer account.
You can do that here: http://xenforo.com/customers/forum-users

Until you do you won't be able to post in the customer forums.
