Fixed PHP 8.3 compatibility patch

Cool. The XF crew should have put that in the announcement though and not (just) in a random post somewhere.

For lack of a better thread, what is the officially supported PHP version in 2.2.19? 8.3 or higher?

According to this thread: https://xenforo.com/community/threads/xenforo-2-2-15-released.219083/

Please note that XenForo 2.2 has higher system requirements than earlier versions.

The following are minimum requirements:
  • PHP 7.0 or newer (PHP 8.2 recommended)
  • MySQL 5.5 and newer (Also compatible with MariaDB/Percona etc.)
  • All of the official add-ons require XenForo 2.2.
  • Enhanced Search requires at least Elasticsearch 2.0.

If PHP 8.2 is recommended, I'd assume that's the highest "supported" version.

Well, not according to this thread apparently? And I've got it running on 8.3 now, but I haven't gone checking in detail if there are any issues in the background that are not readily apparent.

8.3 should be okay. There may be “deprecation noise” but a bunch of that stuff will have been resolved and a bunch of it will only be present if debug mode is enabled. In any case it can be safely ignored.
