Permissions to View thread but not thread content - not applied to new post list

EDIT to clarify further (TLDR):

Permissions:

• Guest can view thread (ie thread titles)
• Guest cannot view thread content

Result:
This works in Forum List but not in New Posts (where guest cannot view thread titles)

If you set permissions to allow viewing of node, threads by others but not content then you should be able to still view the thread titles in the new post list, as with nodes themselves. ie the new post list should respect permissions.

I did wonder whether there was a reason for this (in which case it isn't a bug) but I cannot think of one, hence I consider it is be a bug. YMMV.

It is annoying top me because I use those permissions for some groups as a "teaser", ie they can see the a list of titles of things that are on offer if they register or upgrade, but without actually having access yet.

I see no reason why they should not view the same titles in the new posts list

It is already set to no:

viewing of node, threads by others but not content

So guests can always see the thread list but one click on the title to see the content they cannot. I'm saying that as well as the thread titles being viewable in the node, they should also be viewable in new posts by that guest or (whatever group with those permissions) and likewise when the click they cannot see the content because that is how the permissions are set (whether general or node permissions)

To clarify a but further (Note thatI am not talking about forum view which works as expected) :

Guest can see the thread titles due to permissions for view thread yes:


And as expected they cannot view content due to permissions = View thread content no


HOWEVER in New Posts they cannot even see the thread titles (that they can see in forum view) even though they have permissions for view thread (but not thread content)


Both forum view and New Posts respect the permission to not view content, but only forum view respects the permission to view thread (titles).

In New posts also, guests should see the thread titles as per their permissions and not view content as per their permissions.
