I want VIP members to be able to comment on articles (or on certain other threads), but everyone else can only view these threads, even though they can post on all other threads. These articles (or special threads) can be spread out over different forums.
I can see two ways that this could be implemented. One way is to assign permissions based on thread type (a limited solution), and the other way is to assign permissions based on a thread prefix and assign that prefix to the thread in question (flexible and preferred solution).
Neither of these options seems to be possible atm. Any other suggestions?
