Duplicate PayPal Subscriptions issues

I currently accept PayPal subscription payments via the legacy system, and I am trying to set up payments via the new REST system.

I created a new payment profile, and I added PayPal as an option for payments.

I currently have a 1 month and 6 month subscription option. Whenever selecting the 1 month option, the user is getting forwarded to payment for the 6 month option. When selecting the 6 month option, they are also forwarded to the 6 month option.

When I look at subscription plans under https://www.paypal.com/billing/plans I see that a single "Account upgrade" plan has been created for 6 months.

What could be causing this?

I believe this has already been fixed for XF 2.3.5 which has not yet been released.

You can try applying the changes to see if this fixes the issue:

I drew some conclusions as to what I thought the issue was and it turns out that, while that was a bug, it was not the bug you were running into.

You can patch this yourself.

You will need to open the file: src/XF/Payment/PayPalRest.php

Find:

        $planDetails = $this->makePayPalRequest('get', 'v1/billing/plans', [
            'json' => [

And change to:

        $planDetails = $this->makePayPalRequest('get', 'v1/billing/plans', [
            'query' => [

(Change this one line to read query instead of json).

I was pointed to this fix via ticket. I had a similar issue and this error in the Payment provider log:
Action
Error: Invalid cost amount

I'll see if this fixes it. I had a user pay for an upgrade and it charged for the wrong one, it was a cheaper one from another XF website not even the same XF site.

How can I stop the error from posting every few hours? The person already canceled the erroneous subscription.

You’ll notice that they are slowing down. This will continue until they eventually stop.

I’m not certain but I expect you won’t get any more after 6:32 PM today.

It didn't fix my issue with the wrong subscription being applied, I updated my ticket.
