Pay to post or to feature thread

I have a promotions forum and would like to charge members a fee (PayPal or Stripe) for each thread they post there. I'd also like to give them an option to feature their thread for an extra fee. I realize xenForo doesn't handle this natively and it will likely require a custom add-on.

Has anyone else done this? If so, how do you go about it?

One way to do it would be with user group permissions and user upgrades. Create a user group with the feature friend permission and add a user upgrade to access those permissions.

No it won't it can be done with @Siropu's Ads Manager 2. Basically you would restrict people from posting in that forum and then "Promo Threads" in Ads Manager would allow it and you set your price per thread. Done.
The "Feature" part would have to be done manually but @Siropu is considering it as a new function.

You aren't making much sense My reply was that the OP needs a custom add-on to achieve what they requested. You quote my post and say no, it will not require a custom add-on, and then you post the link to a custom add-on lol.

I think I know more than you do what a custom add-on is, that's for sure. But go ahead and have the last word.
