XF 1.5 Outgoing mails not working

New users can't register as outgoing mails are not being sent.

I tried the default forum option "Set return path with -f parameter (recommended, but does not work on all servers)" but that didn't work.

I tried my server's smtp settings (Namecheap) both ssl and non ssl and both didn't work either. No other options are listed so i'm kinda stuck.
