XF 2.2 One member unable to send PM

I have not seen this before but we have a sinngle member who cannot send a Private Message as in each way he attempts be it by using the drop down in his avatar, the "start conversation" is missing

Further if he clicks on the avatar of the person with whom wants to PM, the "start conversation" button is absent

Not sure if anyone else has seen this and if so how is his problem rectified

Have you confirmed he has permissions to send dms?

Yep, sounds like he doesn't have the permission to access direct messages.

what about part of a secondary usergroup that doesn't have access to DM?

I thought of that was well and he has a Primary usergroup only but designated different than REGISTERD. I checked those permissions and he has permission to send and receive Messages

Primary user group should be Registered. I’m not saying that’s the reason but xenForo permissions system is designed to work with primary group being Registered.

If everything seems in order, permissions wise then the issue must lie somewhere else imo. Have you made any changes recently prior to this issue occurring? A custom add-on or manual changes to the templates and things of that nature? The reason that I am asking is these kind of issues just don't happen out of nowhere, but something triggers them.

What about any errors logged in either at the forum or server error log pertaining to this?

I totally and although I’m not as computer savvy as you folks here I can say that we have made no new changes Of note is that others with same usergroup have no problems.

I thought I would make him REGISTERED again and see if that resolves it
