XF 1.4 Odd text after import from vbulletin

My import went successfully, apart from in a couple of places there is some odd text at the end of words:

e.g.:

I closed the thread…

XenForo—getting it on

Does anyone know the cause and a cure?

This generally means that the character set couldn't be detected correctly (or server settings have changed). You generally need to redo the import and choose to force the character set when setting up the import. Usually you'd force to:

latin1

Too late as the import was done and we only just noticed it. Nobody wants to go back and redo the import.

Will it be a problem in the future?
