Not a bug Notification Emails Still Being Sent

Notification emails are still being sent after the account status is changed to email invalid (bounce). I believe this behavior has been present in previous versions also.
 
Can you clarify what you mean by notification emails? I can't reproduce this for activity summary or thread/forum watch emails, for example. The emails are only send if the user state is valid.

I manually set the user status to email invalid (bounce) after receiving a dozen or so of these notices. After the change, I kept receiving the notices for the next 12-24 hours for watched threads/forums. I wonder if Amazon SES is resending them and not the forum.

Just FYI,

Amazon SES retries soft bounces multiple times.

It's likely Amazon SES doing the retries and will continue up to a certain point, it will give up after a number of tries. Changing the status in XF does not change emails that had already been attempted but retries not yet completed on Amazon SES side.
