XF 1.3 notice from unreadable forum node

My members claim that they are receiving notices from within forums they do not have rights to read. The forum is not private per say, because they can see the title of threads, but do not have the right to read the thread (as designed). Yet because they follow me, they get a notice about me making a thread or posting there.

Is there away to prevent this?

Looks like related to an addon.
There's no built-in feature to notify a user if a followed member created a thread, a far as I know.

In their own words....

Just at the top of the forum, it lights up "new post". Can't see what you posted, it's just giving notice that a post was made but when you click on the new posts to check it, there is nothing there. Have to go to "mark forums read" to clear it.

The only reason I know you posted in Pandora's box is because my counts were all clear, until you did post there. I scrolled down to look, and sure enough, you posted in there. Does that make any sense?

Thank you @Brogan. Didn't make the connection between the two.... huh... As this is the staff forum and hardly anyone post there... I guess we can "live" with it.
