Fixed Not resubscribing automatically to push notifications on Chrome 74

On Google Chrome 74.0.3729.169 (Official Build) (64-bit) after log out/log in, it doesn't resubscribe automatically to push notifications.

It is working correctly for me here in Chrome 74.

Is this something you can/can't reproduce here? Not sure if there are any other factors.

I reproduced it on xenforo.com forum also.

Couldn't reproduce it in 32-bit version of Chrome on the other computer, but on 64-bit only.

Do you have exactly the same version: 74.0.3729.169 (Official Build) (64-bit)?

I tried it on the version before, updated to this and tried again.

Please do share some specific steps to reproduce in case I'm missing something.

Here are the steps to reproduce:

1) Visit https://xenforo.com/community/account/preferences

2) Enable push notifications, so the button shows afterwards "Disable push notifications"

3) Log out

4) Log in

5) Visit https://xenforo.com/community/account/preferences

6) The button shows "Enable push notifications", meaning it did not resubscribe automatically to push notifications.

It's doing it to me now

Though my earlier steps were slightly different, they should amount to the same thing (and actually do, now) so not sure where the anomaly has come from.

Thank you for reporting this issue. It has now been resolved and we are aiming to include it in a future XF release (2.1.3).

Change log:

Fix the automatic push notification subscription logic so you can be re-subscribed after logging out and logging back in.

Any changes made as a result of this issue being resolved may not be rolled out here until later.
