XF 2.0 Not able to change avatars

Hi, I found a few errors in the server log which says: Failed to save image to temporary file; image may be corrupt or check internal_data/data permissions
I then checked within the forum if I can change my avatar and I could not. Any idea what might be causing this? Thanks.

It’s likely just as it says - you need to check the permissions and ownership of the internal_data and data directories and ensure that is recursed through to all existing and future directories under those.

Hi Chris, thank you for your reply. I have chmod the data and internal_data directories to 0777 recursively. I'm still not able to change avatars. I had recently upgraded php from 5.5 to 7.2. Would it be this upgrade?

If chmoding didn't work, try chowning.

i'm having this issue after upgrading from php 5.4 to 5.6

In my case, I had upgraded php from 5.5 to 7.2. Installing PHP extensions gd and iconv was what actually solved the problem.

Yes, my issue was solved by installing php56u-gd
