[Nobita] Social Groups (Teams/Guilds/Clubs)

[Nobita] Social Groups (Teams/Guilds/Clubs) [Paid] 2.8.6

No permission to buy ($69.00)
I saw that the behavior of the Nobita Social Groups "Category" listing with Child categories is different to that of the XFMG (for example). Beside that this just invents the wheel anew from what is already there – the collapsing list does not behave as it would be recommended.

When I open the first category with child categories, the expected behavior would be that any sub category children would be still collapsed. So that I click and open down to the last child in a category. However with Social Groups add-on you open the first category with children and it opens all down to the last child while the icon to collapse or open the child is missing.

Is this a bug or a feature? Seeing the template code which has icons even for sub categories I am tempted to think this is not as intended…

You mean my addon missing some icons for child categories?

Missing the icons (therefore missing the functionality to collapse child categories as well).

Plus only the first category is collapsed. Once I open it the child category is already open.

Hi Nobita,

We plan on purchasing your social groups add-on soon. It looks very good.

There are however 2 important features that our Local Club/Group Managers are asking for.
  1. The ability to manage membership based on whether someone trying to join the group has paid a membership fee. A lot of our local clubs/groups collect membership fees, so if this add-on allowed them to keep track of who has or has not paid, and adjusted their access and permissions based on payment, this would help. Is this possible with your add-on? Or is it something you may add soon?
  2. Our Local Club/Group Managers want to be able to collect specific information on members when they join. It would be great if, when joining a group/club, users are asked to fill out a form with fields that the Groups Manager can customize so they can collect the information they need from each new joining member. Is this possible with your add-on? Is there a way to perhaps integrate LiquidPro's Simple Forms add-on perhaps?
Thanks :)

Sorry, I am new to XF, but I do realize that we can perhaps use the stock XF User Upgrade functionality to deal with the issue of recurring fees: User Upgrades | XenForo

However, does Nobita Social Groups allow us to limit access to specific groups/clubs based on usergroup?

Thanks.

Yep! You can control it via User Group Permissions. View, create, edit etc etc...

#2 i dont see any benifit between SimpleForm with my addon

Will you look into the categories issue? I managed to adjust the templates and CSS to copy the exact XFMG design but I am lost with the behavior code. This needs to be adjusted to have the same behavior.

Let me add that the breadcrumb path also doesn't reflect in which category you actually are. In XFMG the breadcrumb path shows exactly your current location in the sub categories, while Social Groups does not.

I'm not sure that you are right at this section.

Dragon Ball

Just see it. The breathcrumb still show fine for me :)

I take that back, it seems like the XFMG categories work the same and it is still wrong haha. It only shows the level above on the breadcrumb path. It shows "groups" when you click the first category and it shows the first category when you click the first sub category. Not quite logic for me but I can live with it.

Plus: I reported the collapsible categories issue to your own forum.

@Nobita.Kun We bought your Social Groups Add-on and its is great! :)
I am still learning how to use it and what it can do, however I have a question.

So as I explained in an earlier post, we want to collect membership fees from forum users for each group/club they join. So I believe the way to handle this is to require users to upgrade their account in order to be added to a new Secondary Usergroup which gives them the ability to see and join clubs. However, the problem is that we are going to have 20-30 local groups/clubs. For example, we may have "Club Los Angeles", "Club New York", "Club Florida", etc etc. We basically want to charge a fee for each club they join and want each club has its own usergroup that you have to pay to be added to, and by being a part of that usergroup, the user can then view and join the club it gives them access to. Does this make sense? Are there any solutions for this?

Please let me know if I should clarify further.

Thanks.
