XF 1.5 No IP recorded for new sign up

I'm running 1.5.8 and have a sign up today but I get the message No IP logs were found for the requested user. It's a bit odd because their join date is April 2015, last activity today confirming their account.

I guess that's possible if they never confirmed the first time around but doesn't explain the lack of IP address recorded as according to the below the latest visit at least should be. Possibly previous the visit data was lost in an update? I also notice that at some stage they also did a password reset.

IPs are logged:

When a user logs in (front end/back end)
When a user registers
When a user confirms their user account
When a user resets their password
When various content is created
When some content is edited
When a user upgrades XenForo

Any ideas what could be the reason behind the missing IP address?

By default, IP data is removed after a year.

I believe they should have an IP logged for their last activity today, but it's possible there is an approach that creates a session without this. I'd need to investigate. (Until recently, we only logged explicit logins.)

I have a similar problem. User just registered 12 minutes ago. I'm investigating them because they looked like a suspicious profile I've already deleted. They were last seen viewing a thread, yet it shows no ip log.

Is that something I can change from the code? Also is it the same for XF2?
