Members have been reporting that watched thread alerts are not firing for some time - usually I go down the path of 'read your unread watched threads' and figure the problem is a perceived one.
However, one particularly determined member has researched the issue in detail and I am able to recreate and confirm his findings
The symptom is as follows;
A watched thread, read only a few minutes ago -> receives a new post (thus is now bold and unread) -> but does not trigger an alert and does not list as an Unread Watched Thread in ../xenforo/watched/threads -> regardless of how many new posts the thread receives, no further alerts are triggered (behaviour is now like a watched thread that remains unread)
Another scenario is some Watched Threads do not show up at all in a members all watched threads list, ie ../xenforo/watched/threads/all - these threads trigger no alerts whatsoever.
This feels like a database cache or cron-like worker-process issue ?
Any clues on where this issue may be?
