no just trying to allow my game server access to a directory
So basically I need a directory that's wide open

Server directory permissions are set using chmod, not htaccess.

I don't know how your server is configured.

It might be best to contact your host if you don't know how to allow access to the directory.

Based on that saying it's Nginx, .htaccess won't have any involvement, so any changes there won't help.
