need help fixing trophy system

I have a trophy not firing when the user modifies their profile image.
It's automatic, but it's set on a cron job to fire at the default settings for whenever that job is set to (I believe you can change it to fire every minute if you want, but the larger your board gets, the more CPU intensive that'll be).

If everything is properly set, it should fire automatically at the default time setting for the cron job if they're active. If you want it to happen immediately, go to ACP -> Tools -> Cron entries -> Update user trophies -> "Run now"

Edit: It looks like it should automatically fire (by default) every 40th minute of the hour.

I dont understand what is going wrong, I paid a developer 100 dollars to come in and fix my trophy settings for this particular issue and now after 2 weeks he has told me to contact the addon developer.

It doesn't make sense as all the prerequisite trophies fired.

once the user has changed the picture of their avatar, postbit, and profile, there should be a diva trophy that fires for completing the profile setup.

But the Diva trophy does not fire with these simple settings and as a result it breaks the entire trophy point leveling system i designed.

Really frustrating as I have had the issue for 2 weeks and hired a developer off this forum to fix this specific issue and he has left me high and dry in the same place I started. And yeah I already paid him.

He said he wants to charge me another 70 dollars to debug it and if I dont want to pay then to contact the addon developer.

I must say I have had a terrible experience with Xenforo as a new customer. I am over a month into trying to launch and we are still not live yet over extremely simple things.

Why would you pay a developer to fix an issue with an add on?

The add on is the problem here, not any styling issues (or whatever else that developer is doing?).

The trophy should fire with those settings if the add on was coded right. The add on developer should be able to determine what the issue is and release an update, for free, as you didn't get what you paid for.

You're confusing me by having 2 people involved. Who is doing what?

Never fully pay a developer until you are happy with work.
8 messages here... I wouldn't hold it against a developer that wants to charge a percentage upfront.

Edit: I read that wrong -- 1 AM here. Sign to go to bed.

He made me pay the full amount upfront and told me it would take 8 business days and I'm still at square one here....

I have posted on Style Suite thread, thanks for your advice.

Report the developer to XF. They don’t get involved in third party transactions, but if enough complaints come in, they stop the developer from contacting people for custom work.

Thanks guys, i really dont want to cause trouble, I just want the damn Diva trophy to fire so we can launch lol.
It's kinda a crucial part of the gamificatiion system as its basically your first trophies achievements and advancement to level 2.
Just got billed for second month of cloud hosting and still not live.

Before I sign off, my advice would be to go live and take backups as you build content.

You've wasted a month on the most valuable thing that a forum could ever have, content, that attracts users. The features can be added later, and are an incentive to stay and participate, but the content in the month that you had could've put you ahead by now waiting for something as silly as trophies that you can launch as an update when they're ready.

You want to launch a perfect forum; I completely get that. But, if you're not a huge corporation or have more than 500 users ready to sign up at a moment's notice, and that trophy is critical to the forum's success, the trophies can wait.

Build the forums. Start conversations. Add the trophies when they're ready. Announce it as an update when they're implemented.

You're wasting time diddling around.
