XF 1.4 My header covers up notifications balloon

As an admin there is plenty of room for the notification balloon to display but as a regular user the balloon is cut in half.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

Looks like either:

overflow hidden somewhere on/around the visitor tabs

Or... z-index set for that top portion. Hard to tell without logging in and debugging it though.

That was it, the z-index needed to be removed. Thank you Russ for the help!
