XF 1.5 Multiple Domains & Route Filters

I'm planning on pointing another domain to the same installation of XenForo, however I was wondering how to configure the route filters to make that domain land on a different part of my XenForo installation.

Is it really as simple as taking the domain and then pointing it to a specific route index?

Route files are really just designed to change parts of the URL (within XenForo). I'm not sure how they'd be involved with multiple domains. Can you clarify what you're trying to do?
