XF 2.2 Multiple Domains same install path

I found this statement from @Paul B from a post in 2011.

On this specific issue:

Can multiple domains or subdomains be used with a single license?
Yes, as long as the domains or subdomains all resolve to the same installation, all of the content is available at every domain or subdomain, and there is no attempt to make them appear as separate installations.

How can I move my installation to a different directory?
Update the Board URL in the ACP -> Options -> Basic Board Information and move the files to the new directory. You may need to restart the server for the change to take effect.

Does this still hold true with 2.2/2.3?

I want to make sure I don't generate a licensing issue.

We moved from our old server to a new server. To move our file library to Xenforo resource we had to move 27,000+ files to the new server. Both servers/sites had to be up and running at the same time. Most of the .com site redirected to the .org site (less the library) while that was happening. Now that the move is complete I need to get the .com domain onto the new server. Easy enough to do I added it as a domain pointing to the same public_html folder. The issue is the .org site is the licensed site and the CWP user account is the .org site. I would be scared to death to delete the user account and recreate it with the .com domain. I could probably do that without losing all the files but it would take me a month or more to upload the backup.

If you have any suggestions on how to fix the issue feel free to suggest them.
