Is there any way of moderating a response to a thread ?

Do you mean putting replies to a thread into a queue so they have to be approved by a moderator?

For example, let's say this thread was set to a moderated thread.
Is it possible to have replies to this thread having to go through a moderator, before posted replies become visible to other users ?

Yes. This certainly could be a good idea.

Q: What is the usage scenario gib ?

But I think that might overload the moderators.
You might want to give non-moderator "regular" users one-time permissions to moderate specific threads, based on their interest and knowledge of the discussion.

Maybe the posts could appear, but hidden, until they are approved ?

I guess threads would be: open, locked, or moderated ? (seems to make sense) :)

I haven't seen that as an option in the ACP so no, I don't think it is possible.

    Gib: good usage scenario.

As xenForo expands beyond just forum posts (articles .. etc.)
I am sure "moderated" comments to articles will be requested.
