Messages Per Page

I also use nobita's messages per page addon. It's been a huge relief for me when editing very large threads cause I can set my preference to 100 posts per page without affecting everyone else. Should be core.

you can link to posts now, maybe this should be more commonly done:

it then redirects to the more seo friendly version of the url which contains the page number.

I'd like to bump this as it's recently come up again now that I've added a new feature to my User Essentials add on.

Won't allowing the users to change the per page counts cause links pointing to forum content to break? I thought there was an issue with the way the script is written that makes it impossible to change per page settings without breaking links.

I really didn't think about the permalink. I do have an idea for a fix though, I'm going to suggest it as core functionality though.

https://xenforo.com/community/threads/user-essentials-enhanced-version-paid.56107/page-7#post-868315 would be broken if the posts per page were changed here, however https://xenforo.com/community/posts/868315 will always work. I wonder what the reasoning for having the current link is.

Is there any reason why XenForo doesn't use the /posts/post-id link for the permalink instead of /thread/page-#/#post-#

This may be better suited as a suggestion, I just searched the forums as I knew it came up in the past.

It's far more readable and useful in the context of providing a URL to a human.

Default option 20 better than others because we reading more messages per page and it's very easy to read more messages and it's pretty good for SEO. If option selected 10 for per page, it will be hard to read and follow thread.

Dumb question: where do you set post per page (inside a thread how many messages show on each page)?
