XF 1.3 Member Permission on Edit Their Own Threads/Posts

#1
Hello,

I am really confused on how the permission setting works. I have checked every option under forum permissions except "Delete thread by self", but members still don't have the permission to edit their own posts/threads:(

If you're using version 1.3, you can use the analyze permissions tool to find out exactly why permissions are applied.
I used that, it showed members can edit their own threads/posts.
Make sure you have a value set for Time limit on editing/deleting own posts (minutes): If it is set to 0 then users won't be able to edit their posts

Also if you're confused on permission settings, you may not have your groups set up correctly. Take a look at this resource.

I set it to unlimited now, but the old posts/threads are still uneditable.

Do you have any add-ons that may cause a conflict?
Are you definitely sure you haven't set a permission to Never anywhere?

It might be an idea to post a screenshot of the analysed permissions, give details on groups set up and add-ons installed to further help with diagnosis.
