Making Money from Adsense

There are no easy way to earn money from adsense, you need to work out on the content, traffic and optimize your ads placement to get the best revenue. By the way, you can try on adsense for domain if you have any domain which are not using.

BTW, if you are using Adsense and if you grow large enough to be on the radar for Google an expert will contact you and try to help you (giving tipps in improving)...

Anyone have a good guide to setup Adsense for Xenforo? I'm looking around and just dont see much.

There are infinite ways to do so.
First, you determine if the existing locations do the job for you:
http://xenforo.com/community/resources/visual-list-of-ad-locations.1383/

Then you can simply paste the adsense code into the template in the ACP.

See:

You can get quite fancy if you want - for instance, my forums have slots in each forum which I can sell to advertisers. You can have ads show for just some users.

You have have guests see MORE ads.....look at Digitalpoints ad thingy:

I guess my main beef is the actual Google Adsense website - I have a pub-ID but the missing piece here is actually putting the add in...

You can see I'm using the Adsense block from XenPorta -> http://herocraftonline.com

??
Color me confused.
You have to create ads in the adsense website and then copy the code to where you want the ad to display. The publisher ID is never used for anything except deeply embedded in the full code they give you.

Google adsense - My ads - + New Ad Unit.
The ad code looks like this - was that what you were asking?

Code:
<script type="text/javascript"><!--
google_ad_client = they put your pubID here";
/* Droneflyers */
google_ad_slot = "3331645393";
google_ad_width = 728;
google_ad_height = 90;
//-->
</script>
<script type="text/javascript"

so where I can choose which ads are shown or does google decide all that? I've never operated with adsense I'm pretty lost - I attached the necessary information but for some reason it just comes up blank on my website.

This was particularly with the Adsense block from XenPorta.
Can you verify that?

Correct, and they are very friendly and helpful. We also get customized emails about things to improve based on success stories with other sites. We have done a lot the past 6 months. The difference is huge, started very low at a few € / day (I didn't really care much at that point) , now at 80-100 / day so it's well worth investing time in to figure out the best locations and practices.

damn... what kind of traffic are you seeing?

Most of the time AdSense shows ads that mirror either the information on the page or are targeted to the viewer's websurfing history (which can sometimes give you hilarious results!)

Now, once you get an adsense account you can filter out different kinds of ads that will be shown and you can even stop specific ads from showing if you are aware of them. But it takes a bit of work to do this.

To echo Brogan, open an adsense account - it's free - and poke around. It costs you nothing to do and you will learn stuff you may or may not use.

Traffic has been steady for the past two years at around 500-600K unique visitors and 5.5-6.5 million page views per month.
Ah.. I'm at about 4-5k views per day, this may not even be worth it for me. I have a google adsense account just getting acclimated with it.

As per your earlier question, google has a real time auction (billionths of time per hour) where they decide what ads go on your site based on numerous factors. These include your content, the performance of ads, etc.

In other words, what is good for them is good for you.

I am not familiar with game forums, but it seems to me they may be lower value ads - not because of the audience, but because of the sheer number of gamers and sites. If the inventory (goog has) is vastly larger than the adwords buyers (adwords is the other side of the adsense coin), then the price goes down.
